    I am confused :crazy eyes:

    1. Are you driving the truck or is it on stands?

    2. Are you doing this with the t-case on or off?

His truck is in the his garage with the T case OFF and in the bed.

With the T case off, it grinds into PARK but no other gear.

Sounds like something is not right in the transmission. Maybe something to do with the parking pawl?

I think its strange for the trans to be messed up if it was just the T case that got ripped off.

If you don't have the driveshaft mount to output of trans, it will grind when you put it in park, since there is nothing to stop the trans from spinning.

I tried to tell them this in post #2...
Sometimes I feel like I'm broadcasting but no one is receiving.

There is nothing wrong with your trans. At least there's not until you keep cramming the thing into park with no transfer case on it. You are doing the equivalent of putting it in park while rolling down the road. Maybe not as bad because you don't have the weight of the truck pushing it too, but definitely not good.
Everybody got hung up on the transfer case in neutral thing. I was just saying no transfer case on the truck is the same as a transfer case in neutral. Don't go from in gear to park with the engine running in either case.

Why are you even running the engine with no transfer case on there anyway?

...and no the transfer case is not in neutral when in 2wd.

No, the output shafts on the trans are different 2wd vs. 4x4.
