    Pacesetter LT Header install questions

Alright I just got my Pacesetter coated LTs from Texas speed and Im going to be installing them this week or this weekend as soon as I get my tune from nelson. I was just wondering what I have to use in the kit and what I dont have to use. I and going to be using band clamps instead of the U bolt clamps that come with them and Im assuming I need 3in band clamps? Also ive read that no one uses the gaskets that come with the headers them selves and use stock ones, now can I use the ones that are on the heads right now or just go get some new ones? If I get new ones what should I get for gaskets I think I read somewhere that some people use Felpros? Also should I use the stock manifold bolts or use the bolts that come with the headers? Then if anyone has any install tips putting these things on Id love to hear them! Also how long did it take most of you?

if you dont break any stock bolts then re use them,

Yes you will need Four 3' lap band clamps if your using their ORY and some High temp RTV

Depending on your mileage, the stock gaskets should be fine. Over 200k you should replace with NEW OEM mls gaskets

Driver side goes in from top and passenger you have to jack the truck up reeealy high and stick them in vertically from underneath

Awesome thats exactly what I needed. My trucks got 70K on it so hopefully the gaskets are still good. Also whats the likleyhood of actually snapping the stock manifold bolts? I was thinking of soaking them in PB blast for a little while before trying to get them out. I really dont want to snap one of those bolts!

i lucked out and only snapped two, your gaskets will be fine, i had 170xxx and snapped two bolts and i have no leaks at all just remember that your heads r aluminum so when your tightening them dont go all he-man on em. snug is good.
Today 03:25 am 6 stringer o thats a good point, its ok ill just add a blinker fluid cooler
Today 03:24 AMtruckinL33 that's not a good place for it, you can overheat your blinker fluid with the capacitor
Today 03:23 AMtruckinL33 i need them for when i go back to 1985
Today 03:23 AM6stringer i mounted my flux capacitor next to my blinker fluid resevoir
Today 03:22 AMtruckinL33 me too, right next to my flux compasator!
Today 03:22 AM6stringer hey gear oil needs to be cooled, i have front and rear diff coolers

Thats actually another question I had what if any are the torque specs when I put the LTs on also is there a torque sequence? And when you snapped the 2 bolts howd you end up getting the rest of the bolt out of the head?

ya its a good idea to spray PB blast a couple days before the install. i have 3 broke bolts and mine don't leak at all. Work your way from the middle bolt out and repeat every couple of heat cycles.
