So randomly my abs and brake light comes on . Fluids good brakes are good and the lights will go off when I restart the truck . I'm thinking maybe a bad ABS sensor ? Anyone have any ideas ? Thanks in advance .

No gears right?
Then yeah, bad ABS sensor

Has the tune been modified? If the tire size or gears have been modified then you may have to get the ABS reprogrammed for the changes. Not so sure the 2001 is programmable though.

33" tires usually require some kind of ABS module update IIRC.

I had the exact same problem on my truck it WAS NOT THE ABS SENSOR it was the speed sensor in the transmission tail housing. $16.00 part that you can easily find online and replace in just a few minutes.
I think my truck has the same problem, never had the scan tool with me when it happened though, and when you turn it off and restart light is always gone. I often wondered if it might be in the ignition switch myself, but it hasn't come on often enough too bother me yet.

i have the same problem, and never seem to get around to fixing it.
check the ground that is on the body mount under the drivers door. thats the ground to your ABS module.
one of 3 of your speed sensors could be bad. theres one on each front hub, and one on your trans tail housing.
most likely the problem...you abs module needs to be rebuilt. there are several companies out there that specialize in rebuilding chevy abs modules. cost is around 125 bux.
