    Traction Devices....

Ok I know the normal idea used is Cal-tracs. Prob will end up doing those as well. BUT heard of a old trick the Dodge Cars did back in YONDER years. Wondering if anyone tried it.
Take a Crossmember style setup and run under the bed of the truck. Take a LARGE bolt Run it through the crossmember (with a small hole cut in the bed for adjustment) The end of the bolt has a bump stop on it basically that sits atop the pumpkin behind the pinion gear. When the Truck leaves out when the rear end tries to wrap it hits the bump stop holding it down so the wheels Stay planted.... They have a name for this device but for the life of me cant remember what pops called it
Thought about doing Cal-tracs and something like that for quick adjustments... Anyone ever did this?

My dad has a pinion snubber on his 72' dodge dart. It works but is not as effective as cal-tracs. However, it is kinda cool to here it slap the floor pan when you get on it. Also scares the heck out of anyone in the back seat when it hits if they don't know about it. I think the mopar part number is P3690182.

Put one on my '77 along with getting some Super Stock type springs built for it, have to test it out this summer when the beast drives again.

Seriously? You never heard of it? Just cause it is old as the hills doesnt mean it doesnt work G.
Between Caltracs and a "pinion snubber *for quick adjustments* and some qa1 shocks should hook pretty well

Yeah. Crossmembers arent hard to make G. Around here knowing who I know could have it done by a pro and hide it all away just right for less then 75 bucks thats labor and cost of metal....
75 bucks for better traction.... not bad of a deal...

It sounds like what you are talking about is a 3link setup.Lots of round track racers run a similar setup....

Pinion snubbers dont work on every car either. Some will actually spin worse with them....A Buick Grand National does....

If you do decide to do this buy an adjustable pinion snubber so you can raise it all the way up when you're crusing around. It will shake your teeth out otherwise.

My mopar actually hooks better without the snubber. Most guys running super stock springs don't use the snubber.
