Yeah. Crossmembers arent hard to make G. Around here knowing who I know could have it done by a pro and hide it all away just right for less then 75 bucks thats labor and cost of metal....
75 bucks for better traction.... not bad of a deal...
If you do decide to do this buy an adjustable pinion snubber so you can raise it all the way up when you're crusing around. It will shake your teeth out otherwise.
