    Hello Robert,

I recommend a custom grind camshaft. I have listed the specs below.

    Part #: 54-000-11

    Grind #: 3724/3725 HR112+2

    Duration @ .050”: 228/230

    Lift w/ 1.7 Ratio: .588/.592

    LSA: 112

    Advance: +2

I recommend the 26918-16 springs with this cam. The computer will require
a tune. If you have any questions, let me know. Thanks.

That is the exact cam that they recommended for me as well. Just been waiting to save up the money.

Why isn't that converter gonna help him either? That's the size converter I'm gonna run as well. Although my compression is going to be 10 to 1

guessing here: probably cause he would like to get the power to the ground alot faster than what a 3k would do for him, hes got a nice cam but needs supporting mods to take full advantage, dont cut yourself short make it all work together, not against ech other plus his heads are stock and hadnt even mentioned TR & locks or even harden push rods

dont mind me, just when i mod a vechicle i wanna get the most out of it as possible

which i agree fully with you Skeet. to many ppl buy to small of a converter for their setups, to many ppl dont run enough gear for their setups then to many ppl dont run enough compression for their setups

what it comes down to is ppl need to be truely honest with what they want first out of combo then mod around it. Big cams need compression, gears, good flowing exhaust, large stall

    what???

did you miss the fact that i have 4:10 richmond gears moser axles and a mini spool, also running 1 3/4 primary long tubes with 3" collectors and 2.5 exhaust, aero chambers and dumped behind the cab, Im running a tray mounted aganst the cowl hood for a ram air effect even though it is not supercharged, Yes i will be stepping up the pushrods chrome molly ones, by the way i pulled a 496 stroker package out of this truck to run a ls motor i do know a little about building hotrods , and yes i do plan on stepping up the heads to 799 or 243 in the future that may give me 30 hp across the board but the cam will work with eather comp ratio, and one last thought I talked to texas speed today and they recommended that i not go past a 228r because I will give up too much bottom end with such a heavy truck, I told comp when they speced the cam i was looking for a fat and flat tq curve not top end hp that way i can be far out and they have to reel me in, oh yea i also told them this is more of a power tour type ride it aint gonna be any fun if i cant trust it on a long haul, I have hade plenty of race cars that bearly squeek by inspection and can cruse to sonic and back, pretty much spit out all other rides but i want this one to be a hot rod/ cruser with a big set of nuts.(if you go too large with a converter you loose driveability not to mention you burn down your tranny in traffic I mean if i wanted it right id put a trans brake in it not to mention i probably would not run an overdrive behind the motor)

Rob, do you have that cam in your truck yet? Does is have a smooth or choppy idle? Also are you going to be running it in a 5.3 or 5.7?
