    97 OBS Swap to 6.0

    Update: 2005 LQ4 is here.

Have all the parts from the 2005 truck.
    -Complete uncut DBW harness
    -DBC throttle body
    -TD Adapter motor plates
    -Sheofied headers on the way
    -fuel system is here

    Stuff i still need are:
    -ECU and tuning software
    -wiring schematics for the 97
-wiring schematics for the 2005 motor harness
    -lotsa beer

    Progress:
    Old motor is out
    engine bay is cleaned

Can anyone help on the wiring schematics?
Can anyone see anything else i might need?

Goto alldata.com and buy the two year model trucks you'll be working with, that way you have access to all the schematics you'll ever need for the swap.

I will have to look into that. I was kinda hoping that someone had access to it thru work. I used to but due to costs the company cut it out and i am lost without it.

looking forward to seeing this thing get built. I want to do the same swap on my little brothers 97 as well with an lq4/9 motor with the 4l80e. Does nelson performance make a plug and play harness so to speak to mate everything together for the swap?

there you go., as long as the throttle body is mechanical, the harness will work great!

with his harness, is it a simple plug n play setup to even have the factory gauges working with the new motor? and also, will i be able to use the stock obd2 port to tune the truck myself. i have hptuners and it would be great if i can tune the truck myself through the port that already exists in the truck with the new motor. thanks!

nothing is 100% plug and play. You have to do some wiring. Nobody makes a plug and play harness that does everything for you. You'll also have to get some gauge adapters, cut out some useless wires and get your hands dirty making some modifications. There are many posts about things to modify in the harness. Read the stickied posts at the top of the conversion section. You will have a new port to program through with his harness using your 02 sensors. Programming using a wideband is highly suggested.

Hey man, quick question. Did you need the TD adaptor motor plates only or the whole motor mount kit? Hows the swap going. I looking to do this myself in about 6months so I'm trying to do some research and now and slowly gather parts.
