    That is the only difference?

Here is my issue, I bought an 02, now when I go to fire it, it wont, tore it down, there is so much rust in the PS cylinders it wont allow it, so I am trying to get the JY to give me a new one, which they are screwing me around on it.
So I found an 07 with 9K miles. If it is a bolt up, then cool, PCM and intake/harness are all done prior.

Oh no, the 07 is a gen 4, knock sensors are on the side of block and it has a 58x reluctor wheel instead of the 02's 24x

if its a Gen IV no its not a direct swap like the 99-07 classic 4.8 (Gen III)
you have to buy a 58x to 24 converter 275.00
you have to move your knock sensors to the side of the block (drill retap)
you have to buy a 90mm dbc 4 bolt throttle body 200-500 depending the deal you find.

i put a Gen IV 5.3 in my 94 chevy an i found all this out after the motpr was bought an torn apart. i had to change DOD out so
    i could put a cam.

Well, even if it is the same LR4 not the LY2
This is out of the old body style " classic" not the new body style. By google and GM it should be the same, since they are both LR4's

Thanks guys, I appreciate it. I was kinda thinking they were the same, but it is always best to get a second, third or fourth opinion from Knowledgeable sources.
