Thread: 6.0l conversion

    i just purcahsed a 6.0 vortec on a rolling chassis. it has all of the accesories. i plan on putting it into my 1991 chevy full size. it currently has a 4.3 with the stock 5 speed. if any ones knows of any where i can get help or advice on the way to do this with out running into any problems that arent suspected? thanks for any help
    Project: 91' short wide:
    GMC front end update with billet grille and all clears, 17x8 & 17x11 Torq Thrust II's
    5/7 drop, almost totally shaved and 93 Deville tails
    Future Plans: 2001 LQ4 6.0L & a T-56

    I will be starting the same thing very shortly, except in a '92.
    Check out Allens harness he offers. It is clean and well done. The electrical will be the biggest issue as the drivetrain fits fine.

    you wont belive it, but only 500$ and it drove..the guy would drive it around a field. it has the stering column even

    and you said allens harnes? where can i go to find that harness and about how much does it cost? what else have you found out that makes it any more trouble? thanks for any help

    Sounds like a nice swap! It's going to haul ass when you're done.
    Here are some pics of the ls1 engine harness we've been selling:
    LS1 Engine Harness
    The only difference is the intake on yours, the wiring is setup for a truck manifold when you order one for a 6.0L w/ truck manifold.

    Deciding whether or not to cut the frame and box it in, or relocating the a/c compressor.

    do you know if the trenny that im planning on putting behind it will work? thanks besides for the harness dont i need adapter plates to mount itto the original motor mount locations?
