    main pully problems "front seal"

    i did a cam swap on my 1500 hd about a yr ago and everything was running fine til just this last friday i noticed it starting to leak oil so i got under there and looked and the fron seal was leakin and the pulley was about a 1/4 pushed out.. so i took it to my buddys shop to see if the bolt was loose and it wasnt anyone know what may be the problem??

    Did you torque the crank bolt to specs? watched a buddy of mine just zip his down with an impact gun and not torque it correctly then took off down the road... he was calling me about ten min later to come get him cause the crank pully came clean off

    Seen something similar on a Toyota after customer had timing belt done at another shop. Balancer twisted the key way and jammed up against the bolt head. I would definitely take it apart to check the balancer and crank snout. Also I always use a little blue loctite when I torque a crank bolt.

    well i tourqed the bolt down and drove it for like 40k miles and its just now starting to do this i think the bolt has stretched or something like that..

    the inside of the crank is all balanced and there is no key way...

    did you re use the old bolt or did you get a new one....if you reused the old bolt then your bound to have problems

    Are you saying that there is a key, cuz theres not. Its just seats on there with pressure and the bolt.

    are the threads messed up on the bolt?...if not, get a new bolt and tighted it down, it should pull the pulley back to where it needs to go...
