So i found one for about 100 bucks, is it even worth it to put in my 5.3. the person selling says it was out of a 02-04 corvette. And if i put this cam in would i be able to run a stock tune till the summer with out damage to my truck.

if you have the 04 cam i would recomend longer pushrods since it has a smaller base circle that the stock 5.3 cam. You should be fine with the stock tune, the ls6 cam is a very mild cam

I was going to get it just to put in till i buy a bigger cam this summer. how do i know how long of push rods i need.
If you are planning on another cam this summer, which is just a couple of months away, I wouldn't bother. Save that $100 plus the money for fluids, gaskets, hardware etc. and apply it to some good springs for the swap on the cam you REALLY want.
good call I forgot how close summer is.
So, do you already know what "big" cam you want?
Big slow mud truck with a TUNE!!!!!!
not a huge cam but i was thinking a TR 220. why do you have a good idea. i am always open to ideas.
I was just curious. For 5.3's, you really can't do much better than the TR220 so good choice.

i had a feeling i was going to have to shell out for a buch of other stuff. I was going to just do a full top end rebuild while I had the engine apart. Any ideas for springs, gasket companys, and how do i know how long to get push rods? and would a new set of rockers arms be a wise investment?
