Thread: Stroking a 5.3

    Stall and gearing is a definite consideration most of the 6.0 3/4 tons have 4.10 gears.....I guess I am very conservative and figured a 383 would get better fuel mileage than a 408 Blackout I can't wait until you get this done... pull something heavy after it is broken in and let us know how you made out!
    I pulled 8,000lbs today with my bone stock 98 5.7L Z71 3.73 gears AT...it did pretty good... never went over 55 had to take one hill in 2nd gear. I have good brakes on the trailer!

    Well the truck hauls my snowmobiles on a reg basis so I will def let ya know!
