    6.0 header question

    I posted a few weeks ago about the pacesetter LT header and ory kit from texas speed. Well I bought it and the headers look awesome but the y-pipe is for the 5.3. I ordered on the phone and the guy I spoke with ask what truck it was goin on and I told him '04 2500 6.0, and he said it would fit. Anyways i can send the y-pipe back, my ? is can i just install the headers and custom fit the factory pipe i already have? Or should i do a custom y pipe and aftermarket cats?

    Return the ORY.

    I would have flanges welded to the end of the collectors and the factory pipe. Cut the factory pipe and have flanges welded on to meet the flanges at the end of the header collectors...and run V-Band clamps.

    How is the y-pipe for a 5.3? Does it not clear your trans or something?

    On the 6.0 there is no actual y-pipe the manifolds come down into pipe on each side of the motor and they never meet underneath until the both run into the muffler. The stock muffler is dual in, single out, but i do not have the stock muffler.

    i'd have to agree return the Y pipe have flanges welded to the collectors, ditch the stock muffler get one or 2 single mufflers dual out the back of muffler and call it a day!!
    Simple: 408 on steroids!
