I would have thought the same, but wouldn't there be a bigger jump in RPMs at 70 mph than 500 if he was in 3rd vs. OD?

Go drive it and count the gear changes.

Yes, 4th is OD, but there are...two stages of OD, in Layman's terms. There is 4th gear (OD) with the converter UNLOCKED, then there is 4th gear (OD) with the converter locked. There should be a few (200-400) RPMs difference at cruising speed when the converter is unlocked in 4th gear.

Are you sure that's the size tire you're running? Tire Rack dot com does not show a tire that size in their entire database.

Ok good, I'm not loosing my mind. I'm not seeing the 400 rpm differance. I'll get under the truck when I get home to make sure everything is pluged in. If it is, I guess I'll bite the bullet and take it back to AAMCO

Well, the TCC stuff is inside the pan...unless you wanna drop the pan/remove the filter and make sure the internal wiring harness is all plugged in correctly...

They might have forgotten the orange turbine shaft o-ring that's the last thing to go on before the converter.
