    Brake Flush

My brakes in my silverado work ok but the fluid is getting really black, i dont have much money to have it flushed by a dealership, and i dont want to buy a power bleeder from the internet. is there any tips and or tricks to doing this so i dont mess up my braking system?

You can buy bleeder screws that have valves in them. They push fluid out when you press down on the brake pedal, and close when you let go of the brake pedal.
GET OUT OF HERE WITH THAT RICER MATH!

mighty vac works great and is cheap. if you cant afford a mighty vac then how can you afford the amount of brake fluid its going to take to thoroughly flush your brake lines out?

a bandaid, get a turkey baster and suck all the old juice out of the reservior and refill with fresh fluid. Wipe out the tank while its empty. You may want to do it again in 10K miles or so.

    Good call Greg.

You could also do that and combine that with flushing the brakes. Once the fluid reservoir is empty and clean, fill with new fluid and bleed each brake caliper until you see clean fluid come out.

Just have someone pump the brakes and loosen the bleeder on each caliper. flush the lines and all is well.

even with a brake flush from a dealer, it will still go back to looking black. we do these at the shop and it always looks black after a little while. your best bet is cleaning the resevoir as good as you can and flush with a helper pumping, bleeding repeat.
