    speed pro pistons

    just wondering. . .

the machine shop i took my 6.0l to assured me that they would give me Speedpro Powerforged pistons installed on my stock rods to put my engine together. . . (they wont warranty a shortblock, so i have to assemble everything myself). . . but from what i can see Federal Mogul doesn't make speedpro powerforged pistons for LS family engines?

I hope this guy wasn't blowing smoke up my @$$

if i get hypereutectic pistons i may actually get upset. which never happens

well, I hope you're ready for the price tag of those powerforged pistons, they're about $63 each without rings. A full set of rings is about $150. The powerforged pistons are available in 4.0" and 4.02" sizes on summitracing.

true, and the 408 pistons are for a 6.2" rod rather than the std 6.125" rod. Stock rod length is 6.098 IIRC.

It was more for a pricing reference. Didn't know if it was for a 408 or just a stock 6.0 either. I know when I bought Probe pistons they were only about $480 a set.
