Also I believe the truck pan holds about 1 more quart than the F-body pan too.
f-body will show full on 5 quarts, my 5.7 L31 shows full on a little more than 5 1/2 so yah the truck pan is definately a tiny bit larger. Hey Greg, give me an LS1 and we'll try it in my 4WD

I would but it's scheduled to go into my 2WD. Heads are at the shop today being redone and having dual springs and titanium retainers installed. BTW, for future reference, GM does not sell replacement valve guides for LSx heads. They only sell the entire head with them already installed. Scoggin-Dickey is looking for a supplier now to fulfill our needs. Only choice before now was to replace the valves with 11/32 stems and ream out the factory guides for the new valves.

I wasn't referring to the 5.7 L31 vortec truck oil pans. I was talking about the LSx 4.8,5.3,& 6.0 pans. These hold 6 quarts.

The L31 pan will not bolt to a LS1 anyways. [/b]
Oops, was stuck in my LT1 mindset,

The LS1 F-body pan holds 6 Also.

Yeah I check in here every now and then. Nothing really different about it, just you won't be able to notch your frame to use the LS1 style AC compressor. Oil filter clears fine as does front diff, driveshaft, etc. Fits really well.
