I wonder if NP or a local tuner that has the ability to load a GM factory tune into the PCM can rewrite it? In order to keep from having to buy another license it has to be put back in the PCM you have. Would be nice if you could get a GM tech to do that for you with their hardware.

I have two credits left, since I used 2 on the truck, 2 on my brothers truck, and 2 on the gto. But I can't do a single license on my truck again because it says that their is no vcm id.

    do a 30 min. learn

bump the starter (with the key) and leave the key in the on postion, after 10 min the security light will turn off for 10sec...do this 2 more times. when youve done it 3 times the security has been re-learned you should be able to start it. be sure to watch the clock though

i just saw your in houston, what part?

I appreciate the offer, but according to hp tuners tech he said that their is no way to put a vcm id back on the computer. Am gonna try to relearn the pcm. And hope it turns on.

question, am trying to do the security relearn, but the security light stays on for a few seconds and then it turns off, then the battery light comes on for a few seconds, and so on, it keeps doing that security, battery, security, battery.etc this is annoying

Hmmm...hearing that makes me think that you have an 01-02 PCM in your 2000 truck and the OS is not matched up correctly. Is the PCM your OEM one? Or is it a different one?

I would try the Relearn, and not worry about the battery light. Just imagine its not there. After bumping the key...wait ten minutes and watch the light to see if the Security light goes away and the battery light is the only one left... At that point, start the 2nd part of the relearn, etc. It should start.

If it was me, I would save the file, take the PCM to the dealer and have the PCM wiped completely clean. Then make them reflash the stock 2000 OS and tune file onto the PCM. Once the PCM is back in the truck, compare the tuned file to the stock file and make the changes. DO NOT copy and paste--cause you DO NOT want the other OS back on it when you write the calibration.
