    Confused in MISSISSIPPI

    HI ALL,

I am currently swapping a 2000 Trans Am LS1 into my 95 Silverado RCLB, (400k on original motor and tranny) my question is : Do I use the 4l60e in the truck or the one from the Trans Am, what issues will I have with each, seems like it would be easier to use the truck tranny.? Thanks

Using the trans that's in the truck, you will need a crank spacer, longer bolts, and flat flexplate(GM parts). That's what I know as far as bolting it up, wiring is a different story...

man i am not trying to be a smartass at all but why would you wanna swap a 400k mile motor without rebulding it or something? hell i would use the one from the trans am since its bolted to the motor already, would be easier to deal with i would imagine ..

edit: is that 400k mile motor is that whats in the truck now? if so then that explains it lol sorry i may have read your post wrong

Sorry about the wording, the tbi 350 has 400k the ls1 is low mileage. So will the trans am tranny line up on the crossmember? What about trans lines? *also I have the trans am radiator and fan, should I use them or the truck radiator?

If you use the truck radiator, and the truck tranny in the same location, then yes...the tranny lines will be the exact same as before, as with your previous engine. You just need the above mentioned parts to allow the truck tranny to bolt up. Motor mount plates can be bought on-line.
