Cool ls6 cam question (didnt wanna jack anybodys tread)

Would the ls6 cam be to much for a 6.0 done to a 408 with l92 heads and intake, but its still a daily driver mainly towing. I know it leads to alot of questions but i always thought the ls6 cam was a great swap until i heard it leaves more to be desired on the bottom end?

    I have 2 questions....

1.) Why would you spend $5000 on a motor and then buy a factory cam intended for a 3300 pound car?

2.) Where have you heard that an ls6 is too much for a larged cubed motor.

If you really are going with a 408 setup, get a custom ground cam for it. The ls6 cam is a good turbo cam, but that's about it. There is much to be desired in many aspects with it in an n/a truck build.

I don't think you'll be missing much of anything at lower rpm with an engine that size. The larger the cubic inch of an engine, the "smaller" the cam is. i.e. that ls6 cam will seem much smaller in your 408 as opposed to a factory 5.3

Wouldn't waste my time. There are much better options for you with that engine.

The LS6 cam is good for FI, and passing emissions.

    1 good point

    2 well i think they we're talking about a 4.8

just getting some input on the idea, i kinda figured the ls6 cam wouldnt be a "perfect match" and that a custom ground cam would be the way to go
