IMO, that goes along with the installation. Maybe you know some halfwits that would slap on a carb and call it good... the majority of us here wouldn't.

Just like converting to fuel injection would be crap if it wasn't tuned well.

in this case you wouldnt need a tune for it to run properly since it is already tuned from factory. Carb is stepping back in time and performance for no gain. by time you buy a carb, MSD setup, intake, fuel regulator and etc you just spent money to go backwards. Now some say it flows more, prove it.... for the money you just spent you could of went 4150 TB and intake and it would of outflowed any 750 carb. with this setup still have the old school look you still are cheaper then carb, you gain more performance on top of what you already have

    carbs belong on yard equipment

forced induction and bigger injectors will blow away most carbs capabilities

for a NA application ive seen engine builds in the mags where the carbs make a touch more power (but usually they are only using stock injectors in the comparison)

FI/NA has nothing to do with it in this situation.

This guy is NA and plans on staying that way. I'm not supporting his choice of a carb here. I think if that's what he wants and knows what he's doing, he might get 10 HP more out of the carb setup if he's lucky. He loses all the benefits of EFI, such as MPG, tuning, and reliability... but at least he's thinking out of the box.

The guy is asking for advice not an opinion. The question was:

Has anyone carbed a 5.3 and how did it work?

He was not asking for your opinion on whether he should do it.
