if you really want to fix it you don't need to spend $1800, you can geat an eaton for $475, Gear for $150, and $100 for the install kit. You'll still need to pay for the installation but thats only $200-$300

4wd 02 tahoe sitting BONE STOCK in the garage.

2wd are cheaper to lift and more reliable. Not as much stuff to wear out.

Plus it keeps me from beating on it TOO much. Only get it stuck once every other month...instead of once every other day.

When you listed 4.56 gears and a locker costing $1800, and with looking at your truck, I came to the LOGICAL conclusion that you truck is 4WD. I have NEVER known for gears and a locker to cost $1800 in a 2WD application.

only in the midwest does stuff cost that much

4wd gear swap on these trucks is like 2800, which is why everyone is running around with 38 inch tires and stock 3.73 and 4.10 gears.

Just a gear swap is only 800, but the guy won't touch a g80 locker rear, so I need to buy a new posi, and he's doing all new bearings/seals/etc.

A new TrueTrac is $440 with the Master Install Kit and fluid costs like $40. Gears cost $160. About $650 if you do it yourself for a new locker AND 4.10 gears..
