do not worry, it is a common evap problem, the GM bulletin moves the vent solenoid from the side of the tank, to the top part of the transmission. they moved the vent location so it has less chance of getting blocked up. if you want to change it out, just get black 5/8" heater hose.
+1 It's supposed to be that way to fix P0446 that's a common problem 99-09. Bulletin specifies 5/8" bulk heater hose.
