yeah, you'll need the tune setup for the tach since its expecting only one pulse every two revolutions of the engine. The LS1 tach pulse output can be varied in the tune. There is a topic on here somewhere about putting a booster resistor inline with the tach signal to help drive the older factory tachs. My first conversion, I used an adjustable tach driver module from BakerElectronix.com to get my v6 tach to work with the LS1 tune.

The dude that did the work was Oscar Perez Hot Rod Controls.
I later found out that he is a flake. So I am looking for some help and advise to finish the things he never did.
Fortunely the truck runs great and is driveable.

But the tach and speedo don't work and I need to install the smog equipment and get it register in Ca.
Before the CHP stops me and tows it out from under me.
You know they take that unregistered vehicle thing very seriously.

So if anyone can tell me what smog equipment I need and how to get the
tach and speedo working I would greatly appericate the help.
The engine ia out of and 2004 GTO.

    Thanks,
    Joe

Thanks glad to be here. I've already had a lot of help here.

I don't know if he is still on ebay. I got his # from a guy that works at San Bernardino Truck Dismantlers.

He did the wiring about 9 months ago.

I don't know what a tune setup is.
Oscar said it should work but I can't
find a loose wht wire to plug in.
Will I need to trace it from the PCM?

Everything else works fine. But maybe I am asking to much from a crook (Oscar).

Is there a white wire in the red 10 position on the PCM?

I am sorry I met him too. He was no great bargin. I still owe him about $125.
surprised he hasn't been in touchj with me.

    Thanks,
    Joe
Just to let you know they got rid of the rolling thirty any vehicle year 1976 and newer has to have a smog inspection. I your still unsure about your swap you can talk to the referee in your area and they can help you with any questions since they're the ones that have to inspect your vehicle and give your your engine swap placard.

I think thats a good idea I'll wait for the referee to take a look.
I'll go ahead and finish hooking up the EVAP and leave it at that.

Have you had any experiences with the refs and what to expect
    or they helpful or discouraging.

Guess I am little gun shy after Oscar Jurez Hot Rod Controls left
me in a between a rock and a hard space on the wiring.

    Thanks For UR help............Joe
