    LY6 or L92

Swapping an LS series engine into my 99 obs 2dr tahoe. My question is what engine would ya'll go with? I can get either engine and tha price difference is bout 1500 between tha 2.

I do plan on adding a blower in a couple months, so kinda thinking to stay with the LY6 cuz of the iron block, but the all aluminum L92 is appealing.

For now I'm just adding an aftermarket VVT cam and maybe a lil headwork.

A 4L80E or possibly the 6L80E will be behind it.

    Any suggestions will be appreciated.

    Thanks, Wil

Well I went with the LY6. Got a really good deal on one with 6L80E tranny an transfer case.

Ordering the cam today and will send the heads off for a little work next week. Looking to have 500-530 FWHP with the mast cam an tune.
I'll post up my progress when I get started.

i think the L92 are the new gen 4 square port heads,
and the Ly6 is the gen 4 iron 6.0,
and the L76 gen 4 is the all aluminum 6.0
-- both motors are awesome but the L76 is lighter. if your going radical on boost and nos well i would go iron Ly6. BTW i have the Ly6 iron.

The L92 and L76 are both aluminum block engines IIRC. I went with the LY6 cuz I got a very good deal on a complete 0 mile setup with the 6L80e tranny included. And also cuz I plan on boosting it eventually.
