    Burn Victim 6.0L

Well i bought a $200.00 lq4 out of a 2003 2500hd, with 10k miles. Only thing was, the truck burned to the ground around the engine. The valve covers got hot and melted, and the intake completely melted until there were only a few small bits of melted plastic in the intake ports.

The fire department did one hell of a job hosing this thing down, luckily, it had stopped running by then. Brought it home, started tearing it down. here are some pics

heres the original pic i saw on craigslist

here is one bank after i pulled the head

here is the other after pulling the head

you planning on changing the piston rings and bearings? since you have it torn down that far?

i would think so being a burned motor

i would like to just re-assemble the whole thing as is, but i think new bearings at the least would be a wise decision

i found some king race main and rod bearings for 55.00, i think i'll buy em

Probably need new, reworked heads. Burnt valve stem seals, warped guides....
