    New Guy/Swap Q's

Just read through all 103 pages, lots of info

i have a 99 sierra extended cab 4x4 with the 4.8. She runs good but a bit slow and im thinking about a 6l swap.

i read somewhere i want to watch what year motor i get due to the 99 having a different crank position of some sort, so which year 6.0 is optimal for my situation

also about the trans, Realistically a lq9 with a nice cam and bolt ons would be perfect for me, will the stock 4l60 hold up ? or will a full overhaul be in order ?

    Thanks

find an 04' 6.0L, it will still bolt up just the same, and you have all the revisions and improvements since 1999. especially the 2 size head bolts.

also what about my tranny ? im guessing the extra power will kill it quickly ?

    04+ is fine.
I would say at the very least get a shift kit and servos for the trans. A bolt on 6.0 will take out a stock 60e with the quickness. If you wanted even more security...go with an 80e.

depends on how heavy that right foot is...i would do a corvette servo at the minimum, and i wouldnt try a shift kit unless u know what u r doing or you could hurt it more than help it

did it have a beefed up version or something ?
