use an in-line convertor....connects to existing speaker wires to give you pre-amp outputs and a remote wire...only like 30 bucks then run your amp juice and subs and your ready to go!!

....although some people may frown down on this i ran mine like this for a couple years and loved it
    Barks better than it bites......

Ya thats what I was thinking. By an inline converter do you mean an LOC? A line out converter? Just basically a way to connect the amp in sub to the stock radio with out plugging the RCAs into the stock radio since theres no RCA hook ups in the back of the stock radio so the converter is what you plug the RCAs into if I am correct right? Also where do you recommend splicing the converter in? I was going to do this on another vehicle but got the silverado instead any extra help would be awesome

Pill your cup holders out and there is a harness down by the floor board that has 4 wires in it. These for wires are the sub wires. They will be blue and blue/white and green and green/white use one of the two sets to splice the loc to. I think I usually use the green and green/white combo. It doesn't really matter which two you use as long as they are to the same voice coil. This way your output to the amp is crossed over already so nothing more than 80hz gets to the amp. I've done many trucks this way.

Awesome thanks. Thats exactly what I needed. Also will it be easier to run my power wire through the drivers or passengers side firewall? And also which LOC do you recommend getting? Any suggestions or what have you used in the past?

If it is only 8ga that you are using I usually go through the main grommet that all of the other wires go through on the driver side. Very carefully cut an "x" shaped slit about a 1/2 inch each cut on the engine side, make sure not to cut any wires. Use a metal clothes hanger or a thick 3' wire tie(what I use). And feed it through the engine sideinto the cab, tape thewire on and pull it through. If you are using bigger than 8 them you need to drill, which is best anyway. I always use a step bit so I don't drill through too far and hurt something. There is a little flap on the inside firewall where the clutch is supposed to go. Drill through that area and slip in a grommet(your amp wire kit should come with one. Let me know if you need anything else.

If you're running BIG wire, like 0 or 0/1, I run it under the cab and up through the floor. It's always cleaner that way to me. I don't like having wire an inch thick running under my carpet. Just my .02$, both ways work. Just depends on your preferences.

I second that. I didn't think to mention heavy stuff. I drill firewall for 4-2ga and really don't like dong the 2 that way.
