    73-87 c-10 engine compartment wiring question

    trying to clean up the wiring in the engine compartment !!!what wires can be deleted of the wiring blocks coming out of the firewall?? half those wires go to the ALT,STARTER,COIL, ETC ,ETC how much of if it is needed after the LS1 conversion ive located the head light ,, hornsider markers etc ! so im looking for info of what i dont need to run !!!

    All of the unconnected wires after you have a running truck can be deleted

    right but i havent got my harness in yet so i was wondering which wire do i need to run the truck out of the block on the firewall!!!

    One section of the bulkhead connector is for the rear light harness, one is for the front light harness, and one is for the engine compartment.

    Keep the A/C wiring if you have A/C. Keep the rear and front light harnesses as-is. Keep oil psi for gauge, temp sender for gauge, purple wire to starter. Keep one or two key-on wires to use for relay triggers. Of course, there is also the cruise control wires, and the harness running to the fuel pumps and tank switch valve (if you have all those).

    Off the top of my head, that's all I'm keeping. The starter wire will actually tie into the 5.3's harness instead of running the 85's wire all the way to the starter. It's cleaner, and it's one less wire to string across the engine compartment.
