First of all, I know why the rule was enacted, and I appreciate many aspects of the rule, but I have a bit of a gripe.

I'm selling an exhaust that I just bought. I don't plan to use it and plan to just have it drop shipped. According to the 27 people who posted in my thread I have to post a picture of it within 24 hours.

Now like I said, I'm am well aware why the rule was enabled to prevent online theft and misleading ads. I would hope there would be a certain point in which trust begins to form.

Perhaps maybe people with 1000 posts and over a year on the site? Maybe something to that tune?

It's just that I'm aware that many people on this site know each other. I have met quite a few members on here and have sold to some of them as well. Unfortunately, in my case now, I have to sell my exhaust somewhere else.

Again, I am aware that my situation is rare, but perhaps we could have some sort of moderator approval or something to that extent. I would be more than happy to pm a mod in advance, let them know the situation, and then post my thread with a disclaimer that I don't have pictures of it.

If I'm out of line, correct me where my mistakes may lie, but of the 8-10 websites I regularly post on, none use the "no picture no thread" as a rule, but more of a guideline.

I don't like taxes but I still pay them. I do buy out of state any time I make a large purchase so I can get around paying sales tax, its cheaper to pay the shipping cost than the tax.

I'm totally cool with posting pictures. Everything else I've ever sold on here: 2 other corsa exhausts, hydroboosts, titan rims, exhaust tips, turbo kit, etc, etc has had pictures.

I don't have access to the exhaust though, and that was my point.

So basically all you guys are saying is post something like this and the thread stays open?

Yea I'm cool with that. I wanted to stress that I do know why the rule is there, but it basically means I can't sell it here at all. I always post pictures of everything I sell, but in this case it just isn't an option.

Question. Have you seen what you're selling? Are you sure the box you are getting isn't full of dead cats and not an exhaust? How can you sell something that you don't even know really exists? Are you buying directly from the manufacturer? How do you even know the one they are shipping is the exact one you ordered or bought and paid for? The reason for the pics rule is to make sure people get what they paid for. You may be the most upstanding person on the site but if the exhaust is coming from another source then we have to know the reputation of that person and they would need to post up a pic to show the buyer what he's getting ready to lay out his hard earned money for.
