Billet Servo Installation

I do not think that the vet servo came in any of the trucks from the factory. I could be wrong but it does come in the Vet, GTO, F-body, and caprice/b-body. The one that most guys confuse with a vet servo is what I refer to as the 4l70E TBSS servo listed below. However I thought I would post a couple pic's of the different servos. Sorry I did not take the measurements of these servos. I did line them up so you guy's could see the various sizes found in GM vehicles. (FROM LEFT TO RIGHT) Here is a photo of a sonnax super hold second servo, the Corvette servo, the 4l70e TBSS servo, a 553 full size truck/car servo, and the 554 servo found in light duty S10 vehicles. All of the servos are OE except for the first servo from sonnax.

Less than that one most and a lot more than that if you have a factory 6.0...with the %^#$!(* dual in muffler complete with three piece trans heat shield and exhaust bracket set up.

sounds like a bunch of tedious extra work to get to something so simple

Well I checked out the servo I pulled from the transmission(2006 I think, don't have a clue what it came out of) and it looks just like the vette servo pictured in the earlier post. I did buy my trans. used so it's possible that the previous owner could have swapped in a vette servo.

I just tried to install my sonnax 2nd and 4th super hold servos...i put it together the way the instructions said and I couldn't push it in far enough to get the spring clip back on so I took it back out and put them next to the stock servos and the sonnax ones are about 1/4" thicker? I tried to use the stock pin and still the same? The servos I got are part #'s 77911-03k(2nd) and 77767k(4th)...are these right? Back to stock for now till I get this straightened out so please help!

sounds like something isn't assembled correctly. You don't have room to spare inside there for 1/4" wider assembly.

I'm pretty sure i put it together right...atleast by the directions that came with the servos. I'm lost!

i still dont have the balls to do this. never touched internals of anything engine tranny wise

There is a circlip for the main pin that should fit inside one of the servos. Did you watch the videos I made showing how this style assembles? It may be a totally different design but they have the same idea in mind.
