Hey that's an excellent thread on the swap aspect but he only used the stock manifolds. From the sounds of things it might not even be possible to fit LTs in there?

there's no such thing as cheap. I made a set of headers from big block headers before the OBS headers became available from Schoenfeld. It was a tremendous amount of work. I think I have 40 hours of cut, weld, grind and cleanup time on them plus coating costs. VHT paint doesn't last long at all.

Well making headers is not very hard for me but I just don't have the time these days. Just wondering if there was something off the shelf that could be easily modified that's cheap like the pacesetters. The doug thorleys are nice but for the 700 bucks vs my time I would rather fab em.

i bought a cheap set of long tube headers off of ebay, the were new and for a 2000 camaro, but it is for a 86, had to slice the collector on the drivers side and angle it in, and ground about 1/8 inch, 12 inch long, off the right side and the fit good now. out less the 200 total

Now that's what I'm lookin for. Now my concern is whether or not your 86 frame is wider or narrower than my 64. I know the frames are very similar for 60-72 but wonder what changes were made for your body style? You wouldn't happen to know the width of your frame in the engine bay area would you?
