    stering wheel click

while putting on my headers we dissasembled the intermediate shaft for better clearance and something seemed to spin loose. After everything was bolted back up when I turn the stering wheel there is a constant click like a spring came loose or something similar. Need some pointers asap, what do yall think?

Sounds like he broke the clock spring in the steering column. PM GasGuzzler, he'll probably tell you the same thing.

If you doinked the SIR coil as RedHeartbeat suggested (common issue that would make a clicking noise usually only while the coil was being damaged but may continue) you would have an air bag light.

...and all you did is disconnect the intermediate shaft? Did you unhook it at the bottom under the hood by the #5 spark plug, at the top under the dash at the bottom of the column, or both?

It is unlikely but possible you spun the coil to the end of it' travel but not far enough to break it. In this case, you might be able to pull the steering wheel and after disconnecting the I-shaft again, recenter the coil. The reason you gotta pull the wheel is 'cause you need to see the arrow on the coil and read the centering instructions they usually have on the label.

GG, we only disconnected it from under the hood. I think it spun about 3 times counter clockwise. So we tried to correct for it but i dunno.

Rob, have you looked at it yet

yea I got the same response from a couple of other ppl, I'm just gonna take it to the dealership and have them fix it. Its so anoying and I don't feel like jacking with it and possibly making it worse. Can you give me a ride to work manana after I get my tune?
