    Nelson Tune? Cam?

Need a little advice. The ole 4.8 needs a little more pep in her step, ive already got plugs, wires, exhaust, tb spacer and cai, gonna get headers soon, what would be a good cam for it? im running a stock tc and rearend. And should i get a tune before or after i do that? thanks.

first off you should get rid of the TBS. and depending on what plugs you have, 99% if the people here just have stock plugs, they are better for a lightly modded motor than most aftermarket plugs. get the headers before you do the cam, you wont really see the gains youre looking for from a cam if the exhaust is still a restriction. and depending on how long it will be before you do the cam and headers, id go ahead and get a mail order tune from Nelson, they do free re-tunes, so it won really hurt anything at all to get that ball rolling. and id say just a 220/220 cam or something similar would be a good start, maybe a little bit smaller with the stock stall and since it looks like you have some bigger tires than stock...

Thanks, yeah the headers will come before the cam, ill def get the tune then. im running 33 inch tires so the engine needs a little help. I just dont wanna go overboard cause the truck has 163,000 on it and the tranny is gettin soft.
