Welcome. As far as the lowering kit, you may consider a DJM 2-4 Pro Drop. This kit uses lower A-arms to drop the front which keeps your king pin inclination the same as it would be stock and it will not put the ball joints in a bind. And because it uses A-Arms, you won't lose turning radius as you would with a lowering kit that uses spindles. As for the rear, it uses shackles and hangers and you keep your stock coil and leaf springs with this kit which maintains a smoothe ride. Also, I recommend using Bell tech Nitro Drop 2 shocks with this kit. This is the setup I use and it rides almost as good as stock. People have a tendency to fall asleep in my truck on a regular basis when I'm not racing or blasting my music. Don't worry about that 4.8L cuz it is a lot stronger than you think. Check out my sig and if you happen to see Quik on here, he's got 700rwhp on a 4.8L and I think he still has stock internals. Good luck and feel free to ask this 4.8L anything else

So you feel the lowering a-arms are better than drop spindles? I was never too sure as which one would preserve the stock geometry of the factory setup. Ive actually had trouble trying to get opinions on these types of things. As for the 4.8, even stock, my truck moves pretty quickly. I can only imagine what a turbo would do for it.

Exactly! But dont just think you can toss a turbo on it and call it good. The supporting mods are what's expensive. You will need a tranny, locker, injectors, etc...

I can tell you from experience that lowering A-arms are hands down the best way to lower our trucks. I started out with a ground force 2-4 lowering kit which uses springs to lower the truck. It rides HORRIBLE, puts the ball joints in a bind and the springs that come with the kit are junk. I was so tired of the ground force kit that I put a DJM kit on and the difference was night and day. My cousin used a spindle drop and he lost a bit of turning radius and the truck gets a little shaky going down the highway. I can speak from experience on the turbo as well, about 20rwhp per pound of boost. It's a lot of fun outrunning mustangs and rice machines

Yeah Ive been wondering about how low I wanna drop it. Im still trying to decide on a wheel package, but I dont like anything over 19" or 20". Without getting the goofy oversized wheels, Im gonna be left with too much gap in the fenderwells. A 3/5" might be my cup of tea. I need to see more pics of other peoples trucks before I decide, I suppose.

Good point. The nnbs's are a little high. I have a 2-4 drop with 20's on my nbs and people tell me it looks good. Just remember to "C" notch the rear end if you go low enough. Also keep in mind that the bigger the rim/tire, the more power/torque you will lose.

Well, I'm gonna post some pics of the truck tonite, and maybe you guys can tell me what you think would be a strong stance for it. Like I said, Im not into anything over 19" or 20", so I need to compensate by dropping it an extra inch or so. You guys have been a big help in pushing me in the right direction, so thanks again
