Firestorm, take the cover off of the wiper module and resolder all the connections. All you have to do is get the solder hot enough to get it to puddle. It's best to do it off the truck. What happens is the cold solder joints vibrate enough that the connections crack and no longer function correctly. I have fixed 3 or 4 just by resoldering the connections. You'll need a good solder gun for the large areas. A solder pencil is too light to get it hot enough to melt the solder.

Cool....I took it off while my interior was drying from the fresh paint I applied. Fairly easy and straight forward. I took the circut board out of the truck and inspected it. All the solders look decent and none of the caps appeared to be leaking like some of the ECU's I've seen for DSM cars. However, on one side of the circuit board it appeared like someone had poured red kool-aid all over the panel. I cleaned some of it up with a shop towel. Also there was a blue box looking thing attatched to the circut board that was saturated in the red stuff too.

I reassembled the unit and the wipers still didnt work...all it would do is make the humming sound. I pushed on the small black box attatched to the wiper motor assembly and miraculously my wipers started working again. As soon as I let off of it (not applying pressure) the wipers would stop working.

So we got it narrowed down to it primarily being that small black box attatched to the motor assembly...now I just need to find a way to keepa good connection between the two. I will resolder the unit as prevenative maint. Thanks

Yeah, that is what mine did before I resoldered the connections. I could wiggle the harness connector and viola! the thing would work a few seconds. After the solder job it worked flawlessly for two years for me and probably is still working great where ever the thieving bastages took my truck.
