    Castrol Edge

I hope I'm not opening up a can of worms with this question, but....what are peoples opinions on the new Castrol Edge? I've always used Mobil 1 5W-30, but they claim it's better. I know manufacturers say theirs is superior to every other brand of the same thing, but I'm wondering if it is.

Think with your Dipstick, it's supposed to be better then Mobil 1, but if it's cheaper it's what I'll be using.

I've heard good things from a couple people that have switched from M1. You can get at walmart for 26 bucks for a 5 quart jug now, so it's a couple bucks more than M1. I'm sticking with M1, never had a problem with it in any of my cars.

Theres a chart floating around on the internet, it shows whats all in the oil from the top brands, like zinc and flash points ect.
The winners are Ams-oil and Mobil 1. The very best being Ams-Oil Racing, I say unless you wanna spend the extra money stick with what you got.

I was looking at the Val. Syn. and it did as well as amsoil on the ball bearing test. Cast fell a little behind, but close to M1. The only thing I saw was that M1 and amsoil can take a higher heat range. Amsoil took the highest in the study I was looking at? Val. Syn was up there as well with M1, so my conclusion was that M1 and Val. Syn are about the same to me.

RP is good stuff but some people run into oil leaks on older motors when using it
