    build the lq4??

    after reading these articles.

Testing The New GM L92 Cylinder Heads - Car Craft Magazine

LS2 Engine L92 Cylinder Heads - GM High Tech Performance

i am now contemplating the idea of getting some worked l92 heads and decking the down to 64cc chambers and putting as nice cam in and calling it good for now

what is you guys opinions on this idea?
what is your guys for Rwhp?

going down to 64cc will make the lq4 the same compression as a stock lq9 correct?

anybody know what the factory head gasket thickness is?

ok thats all the questions i have for now

According to the last section of that top article the lq4 aluminum head has almost the same CC. If you take the CC down some you will up the CR. So Between that and a cam I think you would be very happy compared to where you are at right now! Go for it!

so i guess i can always go with a thinner head gasket as well....assuming they make different thicknesses for the l92's

Get a good intake manifold as well! My as well. Can pick a good edelbrock pro flow for around 500 I think is whats advertised. Should be good for hp and tq!
That would be a interesting motor build.... imo

They don't make a Pro Flo intake for L92 heads yet and 64cc's is cutting it close before piston to valve contact. If you plan on going boost later, deck them to 68-70cc's at the least.

That sucks they dont have them for it yet! Isnt it supposed to be more designed for torque then the Fast90s? Thought it would be interesting.

The stock L92 intake was enough for my LS3 418 up to 6700rpms. Single cab truck 9.5-1--10-1 CR, 230's-.600 112-114 cam, 3600 stall with a healthy shot would be interesting...
