Thanks everyone!!!
Yeah, Lolyf is on the right track, except we dont polish our heads on 2 strokes, we mill them and redesign the combustion chamber for more compression and proper squish clearences. I race Sport Modified and 1200 ltd in the APBA, what we do is build the skis to the rules of our allowed classes.
In Sport Mod, the only real rule is cant exceed 800cc's and no power adders, I have a 96 HX with the 787 RAVE motor thats bored right to 800cc's, and a whole slew of things done to it,
Rotax triple port cylinders
ported cases
port matched intake and exhaust manifolds
Novi 46mm carbs
MSD Total Loss ignition
it goes on and on... one of the guys on my team has a carbon fiber hull with the same motor and it pulls way harder off the start and buoy to buoy.
The limited class is just that, limited to bolt ons, no internal work allowed, stock bore, stock porting, stock flywheel.
What ski are you thinking about stuffing the V-tec in?
There was a guy a few years back on sea-doo.net that had supposedly built a Sea Doo RX with an old RX-7 Rotary motor in it.
Lately, the big trend is conversion skis, namely whats known as the GPRXP...
They use a Yamaha GP1200 hull, and mate the Sea Doo RXP motor in it, its a supercharged 1500cc motor good for about 225hp stock.
Just this past Spring the first 100mph ski was officially recorded at the Hydro Drags, I believe it was one of the conversion skis.
Im not real big in the drags and the bigger 4 stroke "boats" my skis are small 1-2 seaters still running a 2 stroke.
I'll get some pics of my truck up soon, I havent taken any lately since it was leveled with the new tires.
and yes... its an absolute TURD with the 4.8 and 4WD, but... it gets me around pretty decent, and hauls a pallet of tile and my tools for work, hopefully after the tune in July it will be a little better.
I bought the truck new in Sept. of 06 for 22K... I needed a new truck, like yesterday!!
I just blew my 94 F-150 up (237K miles) and I was in the middle of a job, so I didnt really get to do any research on it.
2 more years and she'll be mine for another 10!!!
