Sorry, all I had was a laptop camera tonight...no flash. But attached are two pics of the screen, one of the camera (shiny stuff covered with rags to reduce glare), and one of the mount on back of the screen.
Thanks. That helps.

in dash screen would look a lot cleaner though. Pioneer AVH-P5000DVD. cheap as hell and works great, has reverse gear input so It will automatically switch to camera in reverse, or you can view with push of a touchscreen icon. they are around 400 on ebay with free shipping on a lot of them.

True that. I considered (among many things) adding the interface for my built-in Navigation/Satellite radio, but didn't like the $300 dollar price on the interface and still didn't have a camera yet. I guess its what you get use to as well, but I really like my screen beside my rearview mirror....it feels more natural to look there than down at the console when I am backing up....but again looks and location are more individual preferences.
And for what its worth I added a better pic from a daytime shot of the modified GPS mount attached to the screen.
you definitely made it look good, I was never implying that it didn't, just to clarify. I know what you mean about the interface being outrageously priced. I only sold one in my 5 years of installing if that tells you anything. One good thing about it though is it allows you to add dvd players and such since the factory nav doesn't have the capability. That was one of the things I tried to talk my mother-in-law out of when she got her h3 was the factory nav. I told her for about the same price she could get an Eclipse which is leagues better than the factory stuff. oh well. I know what you are saying about the natural feel of having the screen next to the mirror. I'm just one of those wierdos who doesn't like anything that doesn't fit in the dash or behind a panel. the install definitely looks good though. If that were my best option that's how I woulda done it. At least you don't have it stuck in the middle of the dash like some installs I've seen.

Honestly had someone had told me I could have new replacement navigation, satellite radio, CD, and backup camera rolled into one to replace my current GM version for $400, I would have been all-in. When I looked at those options back in Feb. I was seeing $700ish and up with at best license plate cameras which I didn't want this time....so add something for bullet cam. But there again it helps to be current knowing what and where to look (I'm still undecided on who makes the best 8-Track player).
CCD INFRARED KEYHOLE WIDE ANGLE REAR VIEW BACKUP CAMERA - eBay (item 260354797987 end time May-30-09 11:21:53 PDT)
This is the camera I went with. It works great. I highly recommend this camera. I have put in 40 or 50 security cameras before and this one rates up there with the real expensive ones. Just passin the info along. Ebay seller was great also. USPS lost my camera and he sent me another. Great seller.
I will post pics later. Too tired right now.
