    Newb from Kansas City

Hey new here, little late checkin in. From kansas city, bought a 03 Silverado LS ext cab on 12/28/08. Got a 5.3, 2nd owner, with 108k for $8200. Did have a Mazda B2000 ext cab with 286k, but got a baby on the way so needed to trade up.
Right now work for Aerocharger, a small turbo company, but working on starting metal polishing company.

Anyway only mod so far is led plate lights. First priority is to fix the 1-2 shift. At light throttle is stutters for a sec then shifts hard into second. Any ideas?

Glad I found this sight, people here are alot smarter than some other sights I found.
It's not speed that kills, it's the stopping part.

    We's ain't smurt peeps--we r dum.

HA--welcome man! Good call on the new truck--but those B-Series Mazda trucks were pretty damn tough and would run forever. I had one back in the day--a 1992 B2600i SE-5 RCSB 4WD with the 5-speed. It was unstoppable. I offroaded the CRAP out of it and went places even Jeeps couldn't go!

As for the 1-2 shift thing...I would go to a well know tranny shop in your area and find out what they think. They will hook up their equipment and read what it is doing--but don't have them do the work--just have them diagnose it. It could be a number of things--but I am not gunna waste your time trying to list things it might be...
But I will recommend that you spend $15 and get a Vette servo and $90 on a Trans-go HD2 shift kit. Both of them will help out the tranny performance and get some more life out if it. Another thing--get a custom tune and take some torque management out of it also!

Ya that was my 2nd Mazda, I love them. But they're also the slowes things I've ever driven.

What do you mean by torque management?

Torque Management is GM's way of retarding timing, fuel, and spark during the shifts to give it nice, smooth shifting. It wears the 2nd band down faster and decreases the overall life of the tranny...
