    Newbie fron South Carolina

Hello everyone. My name is Brad and I just bought a 2000 Silverado rcsb 5.3/4l60e about 2 months ago. It was all stock except for the Flowmaster exhaust. I first added 22x10/20x8 Boyd Blaster rims for a little attitude and just put a Procharger on about 3wks ago. I have Dynatech lt with high flow cats on the way. I am hoping I can get some good ideas and info to get the most out of this 5.3 . I WAS planning on leaving the powertrain stock but there is a guy at work with a Trailblazer SS with the ls2 that just wont keep his mouth shut. The Trailblazer is a stock SS (395HP) and I am hoping to hurt his feelings when it is all said and done. Can it be done with my 5.3 and Procharger? I am new to the fuel injection and supercharged scene so any help will be appreciated. I have read a few threads on here and most of them point to Nelson Racing. Are they the best for tuning?

Welcome. There aren't many P/C trucks on the site....not sure why. I guess for about the same price one could get a DIY turbo kit and make more power. I've always liked how the P/C works on other platforms so I'm interested in seeing someone make it work on a truck. I saw a RCSB in July with a P/C only running low 9's in the 8th...

FWIW its Nelson Performance not Nelson Racing, two totally different companies. Nelson Performance - Performance without Sacrificing Drivability for a great tune and pretty much anything you'd want to do to the truck including forced induction.

Yea if I had done a little homework I probably would have gone turbo. I bought this p/c kit of Ebay for $2500 new. I may still go turbo and just sell this if I cant get the numbers I want.

Welcome! Sounds like you are heading in the right direction! Yeah, with a Procharger, LTs, ORY, and some good tuning, you should be able to take a stock TBSS. But be prepared to need a converter to get the most out of the Procharger. Depending on how much boost you throw at it, you are going to have to get your tranny built.

How much stall do I need? I hate to say it but I hope my trans doesnt last to long. It will give me an excuse to go with a built 4l80e. Any ideas on those? I am not sure if I should have a local shop build one or buy one online like from Finishline.
