    LMG Tahoe swap

    Hi,

the labor was impressiv on this project. The high speed CAN GMLAN bus and all the special stuff for the flexfuel engine made this swap very time consuming. But as with all things, the first one is very hard to do the second one will be quite simple 'cause you know what to do.
Lets say if you ship your truck over to germany I'll do my very best for you..:-))

here is the last part of the work.

under dash wiring. To get the '07 harness to work with the rest of the 1997 parts was fun

Then the new '07 instrument cluster found a home in the '97 dashboard
It came out real nice without too much trouble:

'07 DIC switch and three of the '97 warning lights (ABS, brake, SRS)

The '07 cluster, I had to remove some of the warnings lights from modules I don't use in my swap:

    All back together:

As a gift I bought a '07 conter console jump seat. It took some grinding and welding but it fits nice between the old seats..

As a last touch I installed an '07 RCDLR ( RemoteControlDoorLockReciever) and brought the Tire pressure monitoring system back to life.. in an 1997 Tahoe....not bad...

    Harald
