newbe 5.3 question

i wanna replace my old carb 350 with a new 5.3

what all do i need for it to run right and all my old gagues and cruise work still?

search button homie. In the "LSX Truck Conversion" forum there are three stickies at the top of the forum you need to read. In addition, you should let us know what truck/engine/transmission/upgrades you have now. How "new" a 5.3 do you want, what sort of transmission do you want to bolt up? And finally, most importantly, how much $$$$ do you plan on spending?

ok ill read that
i got a 84 silverado with a carbed 350 4 bolt main with 700r4
cruise dont work like it is owner before me cut it out.
otherwise its all stock

i want to put a 5.3 or a 6.0 from a 00 or up
either a 700r4 or a 4l60e which ever will work best
and get my cruise to work again (never worked)

i guess spend what it takes haha

ok i wanna see if i got this right now.

imma need motor with mounts, tranny, harness and pcm, inline or intake fuel pump,and a different way to hook the cruise control up right?

im going the same route you are im going to swap my carbed 350 in my 82 c10 for a 5.3L im going to go look at the motor tommorrow. this is going to be my first ls1 engine swap.
