i though about dropping it an inch to get it off the bump stops so it doesn't ride as harse. i do need a base run on it, and just post as it changes. i might run the bottle a few time next year just to see how it responds.

Welcome to the site! Sounds like you have quite a dilemma on your hands... Sorry to inform, but there is no way your NNBS 4.8L will hold a candle to your friends cammed and modded 5.3L on spray. Things to do: take the lift down a bit to not make it ride like crap. Second, and major mods you wanna do ARE going to void your warranty. Forget about the warranty. Our LS motors are good for more than 100k miles, so might as well as eff it. If you stay with the 4.8L/4L65e, then you will need to beef up the tranny first. Do a shift kit with servos. That wil help. Second, i would have not descreened the MAF--too many things that could go wrong with the MAF sensors and the way it communicates with the PCM. But what is done is done, so leave it alone until you find out it is causing problems. I would do LT headers, ORY, cam, valve springs, larger TB, pulleys, gears, TrueTrac, and then top it off with a custom tune. If you want to retain your warranty and have A LOT of cash to spend, I would do the dealer installed Magnacharger--it will keep the GM warranty if it is installed by a dealer--but get ready to crap your pants when you see how much they want to install it for you...

you wanted pictures, i live in rosewood heights, my buddy live in alton il. i have nothing but time on this project. after warranty i have no problem with an engine swap, i have a big 4wheel drive that's getting my attention and money right now, as for first starting off with the truck i would like the shift kit, and gears. i only drive 8 miles to work so i'd like 4.10 or 4.30's right now it's 3.42's. what axle is this considered for gears? i know the rear is 8.5. and it's a 4x4 not z71, anyone recomend a good rear locker the front is getting an arb air, or eaton e-locker "electric.

Been gone a while. Change of plans. No lower track times needed. getting lifted, either 35's maybe 38's with body lift. 4.56's maybe lower. what is my front axle??? i'll research and know later tonight. i need bottom end torque. As soon as pacesetter tells me their available long tubes. banks Ram air intake on, edge programmer is in my closet. Nx kit in my closet, i'm going to run true duals with a magnaflow dual in dual out crossover muffler. any other suggestions??? nitrous gives you alot of torque but not safely until 3000 rpm. looking for more bottom end. also since i was last on here i shaved all my emblems, painted the grill emblem white.
Welcome to the site. I'm from Benton. If you drive mostly in town, go with the 4.30 gears. You'll probably get better mileage too since the motor won't work as hard. If you are driving 8.5 miles on the interstate, I'd go 4.10's. I feel your pain on the gears. My 05 has 3.42's, and I've got an L33(likes upper RPM's)
