the only way i see it worth it is if you offroad allot. even then a k and n would be better because you can clean it.

Also, remember that a diesel doesn't ever see 6000 rpm. Gotta think about cfm(cubic feet per minute).

rpm doesn't really matter, the turbos big rigs run suck allot more then a n/a little 6.0 could ever take in. a stock gasser doesn't ever see boost? see what i mean.

i'd have to pull the entire air box and it would just sit on the fender (how most diesel guys use it) i can get some pieces that will have to clamp to my map and then use the airraid tube for the rest.
it will be pulling air from behind the headlight

im not sure if its worth the trouble. or if i should just afe stage 2
    or some other one.

Anyone who thinks that a paper filter that large will not flow as much as that cotton gaze filter, doesn't understand how filters are assembled. There is probable 8 times or more filter material in that paper filter then the other. The K&N style has only about 1/2" folds and widely space, where that paper filter has what, about 1 1/2" folds and there tighter plus the larger diameter. That is a TON more filter media! Even if the paper flows 1/2 as much air pr/Sq inch, there is still at least 8 times more area to flow it though, that alone would allow it to flow 4 times more air. You would not believe the amount of dirt I have knocked/ blown out of paper filters like that on tractors, lol.

Bottom line both filters probable flow way more air then any of these motors could pull with out becoming a restriction.

if you want a big, good flowing filter, get a big clamp on replacement k & n from one of their diesel kits. my filter that came in the kit is about that big and would probably clamp on to you air raid tube, or at least pretty close.
