anyone use the semi truck air filter

i see alot of diesel guys use this and was wondering if anyone had done it on a gas truck. i've been thinking about putting on on mine instead of bucking up for the afe stage 2 or something similar.
    pro's or con's
    it's a huge filter

or should i just get a full intake kit like afe or volant?

My question would be how dense are the fibers? I don't know jack about diesels. Do they "suck" more than gas engines do...so to speak?

never thought about that. i'd guess with a turbo it would be i have no idea.
my friend just put one on his powerstroke and if it could work good for my gas 6.0 it woudl save me a few hundred dollars
as they only cost about 30$

The filter is only a piece of the puzzle, take a look at your stock intake, between the air box and the intake manifold on the engine. A larger filter will do little when there is a larger restriction further on...

i can make the rest of it. or buy just the tube from a company.
my biggest concern was make sure the map would work with this
as far as it fitting together

i guess it would filter better, but it would probably flow about the same as stock. if you want cheap just get a drop in k and n and cut the box.

Yes these type of filters are pretty dense due to the enviroment that a heavy duty truck has to work in. They have to be able to filter out alot of dirt due to the suction of these engines. We use these on f-750's at work on cat engines. I don't know if it wll fit in your engin bay though. it would be cheaper and less work to get a used k&n instead of having to modify your engine bay in order to make it fit.
