I have searched around, but I cannot find a writeup on the HD-2 Shift kit installation.
I know the instructions are detailed, but I do not want to end up with crazy hard shifts by using to many shims or drilling a hole to big. Does anyone have a writeup for our trucks that will help me out? I will be pulling the transmission to install my new TC and during that time I am installing the
HD-2. Otherwise if you just know how many shims to use and what size holes to drill that will help.

The instructions will tell you what size to drill what holes and even come with the correct drill bits.
Don't use any spacers/washers in the accum. if you want good shifts.
Also, get yourself a vette servo.
The instructions are very straight forward and easy to follow, just take your time and check off each step as you complete it.

Thanks Allen, I have the vette assembly installed already. So I just dont use any shims and drill the holes they say to drill and I will be good?

drop pan install...drill some holes new filter put pan back on put some fluid in and check levels and drive it

Its not too bad, I just did mine this morning in about 2 and a half hours. as long as you take your time and make sure everything is clean you'll have a trouble free install. In the directions it will tell you what shims do what.

I would say b/c transmission fluid does not break down regular grease.. Just a thought.

Use TransGel. It's made for it. Use Vaseline in a pinch.
Not unless it gets hot enough, then the tranny would be fried anyway. Mine didnt get a chance to get that hot.
