    GMC with nearly 300k

Yeah thats right... 99 Sierra 1500 with 285k miles. Poor 4l60e, its on its third one! Original lr4.. only work ever done with it was plugs, that was when I got the truck.. close to an 1/8" gap.. lets just say was a very bad miss.

From Spokane, Washington.. but living in southern MS as of now.

The truck, I don't plan on anything now. But when the tranny goes again. Its gone.. going with FLT, then getting the lq9, rear diff will get locked.. detroit locker I'm thinking.

Will be putting 2500 miles on it in the next month. Moving myself back to Spokane. Hope that tranny gets me back there.. one hell of an expensive trip if it doesn't

Welcome to the site. Damn man--285k miles? Doesn't surprise me one bit--these LS style motors are very strong and dependable--and can be easily modded to be stupid fast! Good call on buying the truck--so much you can do with one. But as you know, the 60e is the weak point--make sure you get a solid driveline to go with the increased power. A built tranny with a modded LQ9 and a TrueTrac in the rear would be an excellent setup!

Thats what I hear from these engines.. and I got the proof now too!

Will attempt to do most of the work myself.. it all would be a first.. most I've done were the plugs on an engine. The guy asked what gap the plug was.. its was wtf type of moment

268k on my FS Blazer- almost gotcha.

Reading your sig... my 00 4.8 has pacesetter lts with the ORY, no cats, and a 3" magnaflow 24" three-chamber muffler in the stock location with a tailpipe that dumps over the rear axle. Zero cab drone, you can hardly hear it cruising, but anything over 3k rpm and she starts a'hollerin. Just some input for ya.
