Thanks guys, i know the 327 is a numbers match for this year and im def. keeping it, i havent found a donor yet, still exploring options and waiting for enough funds, im kinda thinking buy a 5.3, bore to ls1 specs and build the motor, or if i get impatient, buy a 6.0l and a nice big cam, any suggestions?

Damn, with a numbers matching 327, I would almost wanna keep it and do a little modding to it, but then you'd be runing the authenticity of it all... I would not go to the expense and labor of boring out a 5.3L. Either do a 5.3L or a 5.7L. The 5.7L will be lighter for the truck, and you can make some good power out of it. A 6.0L (Lq4 or LQ9) would be another good option! You can easily mod it to put down 450 rwhp on all motor.

LS3 would be my choice these days. That's a strong engine and you don't really have to do anything to it to turn some big numbers.

I really dont want to mod the 327, there starting to become rare, the only reason i thught about the 5.3 bored to a 5.7 is because the 5.3's can be bought for next to nothing, all in all i still rather do the 6.0, how much are the ls3's goin for

The good thing is you get instant power today instead of years down the road with even more money spent buying cams, heads, headers, pushrods and who knows what other mods along the way. That's why I went 408 at the time, got tired of nickel and diming my bank account into oblivion.
